I agree with everything you say, data collection is absolutely necessary to make this bias more visible (love Pérez’s book). I would also add that we desperately need more female role models at C-level positions and also at universities (or teachers in STEM subjects) to stop the conditioning of our youngsters that science/STEM is a male thing.
